The mother of all movies, where Checkers are featured. Filmed on location in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where Checker cars were produced until 1982. Nice shots of taxi cabs being produced and a really good movie.

Superman - 1978

Starring Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, Marlon Brando & Glenn Ford; directed by: Richard Donner (151 min.)
The first Superman movie is an epic masterpiece. The comic book comes to live, thanks to a convincing performance by Christopher Reeve as the super hero. New York is the Metropolis of the comic book, therefore there are a couple of nice Checker driving scenes.

Disappointing third part of the Superman saga. At least New York is still Metropolis and has a couple of nice Checker scenes.

The Bronx in the 60s. In the last 10 minutes of the movie the bad guy steals a Checker cab, puts the unconsious Jody Foster on the back seat and runs over an undercover cop in a telephone booth. Nice movie, which supposedly plays in 1964 - the Checker cab in it has the post-1973 bumpers though!

Boris and Natasha - 1992

An action-comedy with Arnie, directed by "Die Hard" maker John Mc Tiernan. An underrated movie, that is actually a lot of fun to watch, especially because it is quoting so many other famous action movies. Arnolds best quote, after a bad got smashed in a big yellow car:"Checker taxi, no airbags".

Real nice romantic comedy with fantastic Checker driving scenes in New York.

Private Parts - 1997

The outrageous auto-biographical story of Howard Stern, the wonderfully politically incorrect radio-rebel who is now also a TV-personality, an author and a movie star. In the movie, his side kick obin leaves the NYC studio and hails a cab. She gets in the only checker available. Later she returns - also in a Checker cab.

Man on the Moon – 1999
Starring Jim Carrey, Danny De Vito & Courtney Love; directed by Milos Forman (118 min).
A real Checker taxi juwel. Jim Carrey is Andy Kaufman, who, before his early death, played in the TV show "TAXI", aired from 1978 to 1983. The set of the show was rebuild for the movie, including the yellow Checker cab.
